Your Therapist
Therapy is deeply personal — and so is the team you choose to work with. Here's a little about who we are, how we work, and what we believe about healing.
Licensed
Professional Counselor
We are the team behind SlateCole Counseling & Consultation, LLC. Our work is rooted in a simple belief: every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change — and sometimes, all it takes is the right space and the right support to get there.
We specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. Our approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply individualized — we don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. What works for one person may not work for another, and we take the time to understand your unique history, strengths, and goals before we build a path forward together.
Outside of the therapy room, we are lifelong learners committed to ongoing training and professional development. We believe that being good therapists means staying curious — about the field, about the people we work with, and about the world we're all navigating together.

Our Approach
We draw from a range of evidence-based modalities — including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches — but we don't apply them rigidly. Every person is different, and the most effective therapy is one that's tailored to you.
Our style is warm and direct. We'll challenge you when it's helpful, sit with you in the hard moments, and celebrate the progress you make — however small it might feel. We believe the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful tools for change.
Above all, we believe you are the expert on your own life. Our role is to offer perspective, tools, and a steady presence — not to tell you who to be or how to live.
Safety First
Every session begins with your sense of safety and comfort. We move at your pace, always.
Genuine Curiosity
We approach each person with openness — no assumptions, no judgment, just genuine interest in your experience.
Practical Tools
Insight matters, but so does action. We work toward changes you can feel in your daily life.
Cultural Humility
We are committed to understanding how your identity, background, and culture shape your experience.
Common Questions
Do you work with couples or families?
Our practice is focused on individual and couples therapy for adults. We are happy to provide referrals for family therapy as needed.
How long does therapy take?
It depends on your goals and what you're working through. Some people find meaningful relief in 8–12 sessions; others benefit from longer-term work. We'll regularly check in on your progress and adjust accordingly.
Do you accept insurance?
We currently accept select insurance plans and also offer private pay options. Please reach out directly to discuss what works for your situation.
What if I've never been to therapy before?
That's completely okay — and actually quite common. The free consultation is a great place to ask questions and get a feel for the process before committing to anything.
Is telehealth as effective as in-person?
Research shows telehealth therapy is equally effective for most concerns. Many clients actually prefer it for the convenience and comfort of being in their own space.
